Perhaps motivated by cratering poll numbers, President Biden’s campaign team proposed to debate President Trump twice before the 2024 presidential election. President Trump wholeheartedly accepted the challenge, posting on Truth Social, “Let’s get ready to Rumble!!!” Now CNN will host the first debate on June 27. Today’s exciting development all started when President Biden posted a video challenging President Trump to two debates. He even quipped that he heard that Trump is “free on Wednesdays” – usually an off day for trials. Clearly, Biden was throwing some shade. The Biden campaign also issued a list of requirements for the debates. When we saw the requirements, we didn’t think Trump would agree to them, but he did very quickly. One of the main requirements is that the debate would be held on a mainstream news network – so CNN will host the first debate without an audience present. I’m very interested in seeing who CNN picks to moderate – and whether the moderator can avoid becoming an active participant. Further, the microphones will be cut off when a candidate’s time is up. An insightful viewer on today’s show asked if the microphones shutting off could hurt Biden since it takes him so long to formulate his thoughts. It’s a fair question. Most notably, Biden’s terms ensure that no third-party candidate will be allowed on the debate stage. We can all recall in the ’90s when Ross Perot played spoiler to President George H. W. Bush being reelected. He doesn’t want RFK Jr. there. The fact that RFK won’t be present at the debate stings a little. He’s polling around 10%, which is substantial. RFK could have a sizable impact on the election for those who don’t want to vote for either Trump or Biden. The scheduled debates are likely a very good development for President Trump because he’s been mired in negative news surrounding his never-ending trials. He will have the opportunity to shine on the debate stage, where he typically does well (even if the first presidential debate against Biden in 2020 didn’t go so well). Trump has a major advantage in having a strong economic record to tout. On the other hand, Biden can’t defend his economy at all. A recent New York Times poll shows that President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in five battleground states (Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada) among registered voters. Much of the discontent with Biden comes from young people and Hispanic voters who are upset with his policies (e.g., border, inflation). The Hill reports: “The poll found Trump leading in five out of six swing states, with Wisconsin the lone place where Biden is ahead. More concerning for Biden is that the poll found the president is losing support among young voters and Black and Hispanic voters, all of whom are critical to his coalition to win reelection. While Republicans took a victory lap, Democrats cautioned it was one poll nearly six months out from Election Day. But Biden allies acknowledged the president has work to do if he is to win reelection in November.” What does this poll say about the 2024 presidential election? While we still have a long way to go, President Trump has a significant lead in three of the six states mentioned. Poll numbers in favor of Trump could be devastating and even discourage some people from voting. Americans know firsthand what is happening in our country. And, despite President Biden’s claims that it’s “the best economy in the world,” the economy is playing a huge factor in Trump’s current lead. Voters are still hurting at the grocery store and gas pump. Besides a depressing economy, the poll may reflect issues of immigration. In the Southwest, they’re seeing this firsthand. The border is a national security issue impacting key swing states directly. While polls may not be a direct indicator of results, we know one thing for sure: Voting rules have changed. President Biden wants Israel to avoid going into Rafah at all costs – so much so that his Administration offered to give Israel intelligence on Hamas leaders if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would call off the operation. Biden’s deliberate withholding of war intel just fully exposed his anti-Israel agenda. The Washington Post broke the shocking news: “The Biden administration, working urgently to stave off a full-scale Israeli invasion of Rafah, is offering Israel valuable assistance in an effort to persuade it to hold back, including sensitive intelligence to help the Israeli military pinpoint the location of Hamas leaders and find the group’s hidden tunnels, according to four people familiar with the U.S. offers.” So not only did the Biden Administration have intel on where certain Hamas leaders were hiding, but even more despicably, the Biden Administration used this information as a bribery tool against Israel. We’ve watched Israel defend itself for seven months after Hamas’ attack, and the war could have ended much sooner if the Biden Administration had rightfully shared the location of Hamas leaders in Gaza. Don’t forget that Biden also just halted a weapon shipment to Israel over its upcoming invasion of Rafah. After these two recent actions by President Biden, we can now ignore his recent speech condemning antisemitism. The White House is actively undermining America’s greatest ally. And how long has it had this valuable intel that could have ended Israel’s war against Hamas? We’ve been sounding the alarm for a while now that when you hear pro-Hamas radicals on college campuses attacking Zionists, they include evangelical Christians or anyone who believes Israel has the right to exist. When you hear “enemy number one,” you think of Osama bin Laden, El Chapo, etc., and Christians are being lumped in with such evil figures. It’s outrageous. Christians are also in the crosshairs, not just Jews. The radicalism is only getting more dangerous as it continues. President Trump had a massive day in court in two cases. I’d love to talk about something other than Trump being in court, but that’s where we are right now in this country, with the far Left doing anything it can to prosecute him. First, the Georgia Court of Appeals agreed to hear arguments for why Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be disqualified from President Trump’s Georgia election interference case. If you remember, Judge McAfee declined to dismiss DA Willis after noting that an “odor of mendacity” – lying – permeated Willis’ testimony regarding her relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade. So Trump appealed, arguing that Willis’ misconduct had tainted the case. The appeals court agreed with the arguments we made in our amicus brief that this case and the level of impropriety involved deserved a second look. In agreeing to hear Trump’s appeal, the Georgia Court of Appeals is acknowledging that Trump’s appeal has some merit – it wouldn’t waste its time otherwise. Of course, this doesn’t mean the judges will dismiss Willis, but they will listen to the arguments from Trump’s legal team. Also, this delay increases the potential that this trial will not occur before the 2024 presidential election. Due to the latest development, the ACLJ is also preparing to file a second amicus brief – led by our own former Georgia prosecutor – to disqualify DA Willis and protect the integrity of our judicial system. We will be filing this brief next month. In President Trump’s classified documents case, Judge Aileen Cannon postponed the trial indefinitely after Rep. Jim Jordan (OH-4) launched an investigation into Special Counsel Jack Smith’s admission of evidence tampering. The trial had been originally scheduled for May 20. And now no new trial date has been set for the near future after Judge Cannon said the court is dealing with the “myriad and interconnected pre-trial” concerns. The far Left is unhappy about this development because this case also will likely not happen before November. As we reported yesterday, Rep. Jordan is launching an investigation after Special Counsel Smith ironically mishandled the same classified documents that he accused Trump of mishandling. Such a revelation clearly raises several questions in the case against the former President. Yet even more shocking, allegations have arisen of Smith engaging in witness tampering by offering a lawyer a judgeship if he got a key witness to cooperate.
