This Is A Sad Day For America
Sekulow Senior Military and Political Analyst Tulsi Gabbard, who is also on President Donald Trump’s shortlist for Vice President, joined the show to respond to his criminal conviction in New York City. She gave one of the strongest rebukes of Trump’s guilty verdict that we’ve heard. Gabbard says “this is not and should not be a partisan issue.” She says if we the people allow this to stand . . . not a single American should feel safe.

LEGAL ANALYSIS: Next Steps For Trump After New York Felony Conviction
New York City DA Alvin Bragg’s case against President Donald Trump concluded yesterday with the NYC jury delivering a guilty verdict on all 34 counts. Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump’s sentencing to take place on July 11. How does this affect President Trump’s 2024 presidential election bid against President Biden? And what is the likely political fallout for this shocking, historic verdict? We’re going to break everything down for you.
Let’s be honest: Yesterday shouldn’t have really surprised anyone. Deep down, everyone probably knew that Trump would be convicted in a New York courtroom by a New York jury for a crime that no one can seem to define. Regarding the 34 counts of falsifying business charges, we don’t really know exactly what parts the prosecution chose to elevate the misdemeanor to a felony.
Sure, many who truly respect the law and Constitution held out hope that maybe just one or two of the jurors would stand by their principles and recognize that the trial was unjust and politically motivated. However, that proved not to be the case, and the jury unanimously convicted Trump.
So what’s Trump’s next move? This unjust ruling must be corrected on appeal, so Trump will likely appeal next to a New York appellate court composed of judges, not a jury. If the appellate court doesn’t overturn the conviction, the highest court in the state, the New York Court of Appeals, will weigh in, and then it could go to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.

The ACLJ Secures Victory For Teacher In Texas
The ACLJ has achieved a win for our client, who was told by school officials not to pray anywhere a student might see her. After many months of the school district refusing to stipulate that our client could pray in the presence of students, the court has now ordered it. And if the school punishes her when she resumes praying while students are present, we can come back to the court with this and hold the school accountable.

The Leading Exporter of Terrorism Urges Protestors To Continue the Fight
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is urging students in America to persist in their protests that began on university campuses across the United States. He emphasized the importance of continuous action for “Palestine.” He called on them to maintain their efforts unwaveringly, stressing that their support is crucial for the Palestinian cause.

The DNC Must Move Quickly To Ensure Biden On Ohio’s Ballot
The DNC is urgently working to nominate President Biden virtually to secure his spot on the Ohio ballot. The radical Left is blaming Republicans for the rush, accusing the party of erecting barriers when it was the Democrat Party that failed to follow the known election rules.

Major Oversight Leaves DNC Rushing To Secure Biden Nomination
As of right now, President Joe Biden will not appear on the 2024 presidential election ballot in Ohio. However, Biden’s party plans to nominate him virtually before the Democrat National Convention to get his name on the Ohio ballot. “Virtually?” I guess we are reliving the Covid-19 years.
The Biden campaign had focused so hard on keeping Trump off the ballot that they forgot to secure their candidate’s eligibility. And the ACLJ had to go to the Supreme Court and secure a 9-0 ruling to ensure you have the right to vote for the candidate of your choice.
The far Left is trying to blame the other side for Biden’s absence on the ballot (“[W]e will ensure that Republicans can’t chip away at our democracy through incompetence or partisan tricks”). Yet they have no one to blame but themselves because they scheduled the convention too late.
After the planned virtual roll call to ensure Biden is on the Ohio ballot, the Democrat National Convention in Chicago later this summer will just be for show.
In news that you just can’t make up, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, tweeted that the pro-Hamas students “are on the right side of history.” Further, these radical students (and their university professors) have “formed a branch of the Resistance Front” in the fight against Israel.
ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell reacted to this shocking tweet:
"When the Ayatollah is complimenting tenured teachers on Ivy League campuses, we’ve got a problem in America. It’s very scary. . . . Now we are seeing Khomeini take it to the next level because he likes what’s happening on our college campuses. This is a warning sign. Wake up, America."
How does it feel to know that one of the evilest men in the world considers you an ally? Maybe that be a sign that your antisemitic, pro-Hamas radicalism is misplaced.
The failures of higher education have been on clear display for the past few weeks. Can faith be restored in colleges so parents can feel comfortable sending their kids to school again? Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggests a path forward to save higher education here.
Finally, I am proud to announce that the ACLJ secured a win in another religious liberty case. We were defending a teacher whose school principal banned her from praying anywhere students might see her on school grounds.
At one point, the principal tried to change his story, but the teacher had recorded the conversation. We presented the transcript in court, showing how the principal had violated the teacher’s constitutional rights.
In our lawsuit on behalf of this teacher, we sought a preliminary injunction to allow our client to pray while at school. Yesterday the judge issued an order, ensuring that the teacher would be free to pray on school grounds.
So after many months of the school district refusing to stipulate that our client could pray in the presence of students, the court has now ordered it. And if the school punishes her when she resumes praying while students are present, we can return to the court and hold the school accountable.
The ACLJ will never stop defending the religious liberty of Christians across America. If your religious rights are being violated, reach out to us at ACLJ.org/HELP.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the DNC having to rescue President Biden from not being on the Ohio ballot. Special Counsel for Government Affairs with the ACLJ Craig Parshall gave an update on the ACLJ’s defense of the NRA’s free speech.

MAJOR Problem For Joe Biden Ahead Of New York Trump Trial Verdict
The Trump hush money trial in New York City is nearing its conclusion as the jury deliberates. With the proceedings at a crucial juncture, a decision is expected imminently.

Big Trouble For Biden As New York Trump Verdict Looms
Could a New York City jury issuing a guilty verdict help President Donald Trump’s popularity? Some in the media (e.g., Fox News’ Steve Doocy interview with former U.S. Representative Trey Gowdy) are theorizing that Trump’s poll numbers could soar even more regardless of the NYC jury’s decision – making the verdict a lose-lose for President Biden.
Jury deliberation in Trump’s New York City case began this morning, and we could see a verdict as soon as today. If the jury comes back that quickly, it’s usually not good for the defendant. If it takes longer, running through the weekend, that’s often a good sign for the defendant. If the jury were to find President Trump guilty, possible outcomes could include prison time, significant fines, house arrest, probation, or a mix of these.
Judge Juan Merchan instructed the jury not to take anything back for deliberation except their own personal notes. And Merchan explained that if the jury finds Trump guilty of a felony, the decision must be unanimous. However, the jury does not have to be unanimous in its reasons for determining said felony.
Many are wondering what it means for the future if President Trump gets convicted. Where would an appeal come into play? This depends on the timeline for sentencing, which could be complicated. Trump is running for office, and he has lifetime Secret Service protection, which could intervene to stop him from going to prison. If the sentencing process is drawn out, the appeal could take place prior to sentencing. But even if Trump appeals, he still faces New York judges.
The outcome of this case will give us a sense of how other Trump cases will move forward (e.g., the Georgia election interference case, the Florida classified documents case, and Jack Smith’s Jan. 6th case). This process could also encourage political leaders to seek political prosecution of their opponents twisting everything into a crime.

MAJOR UPDATE On TRUMP New York Trial
Closing arguments are taking place today in President Donald Trump’s New York City trial. Will DA Alvin Bragg’s legal team convince the NYC jury to convict the former President?
Fox News reports on Trump’s big day in court:
Former President Trump arrived to the Manhattan courthouse for his New York criminal trial on Tuesday, speaking briefly to reporters outside the courtroom.
The trial resumes Tuesday with both the prosecution and defense offering their closing arguments, which judge Juan Merchan says will last the entire day. Trump argued that the verdict in the case could be a “dangerous day for America.”
Altogether, President Trump faces 34 counts in his New York City trial over whether he falsified business records during his 2016 presidential election campaign. Normally, such a violation, if proven, would be a misdemeanor and result in a fine, yet DA Bragg has elevated the charge to a felony by attempting to twist it into an campaign finance violation that could include prison time.
The last couple of weeks were not good for the prosecution. One of the primary witnesses admitted to stealing $30,000 from Trump while serving on Trump’s election team. How will such a shocking revelation impact the jury’s decision?
Judge Juan Merchan hopes to wrap up closing arguments by this evening, and then the jury will receive its instructions for rendering a verdict. Sometimes verdicts come rather quickly, or they can take some time – no timeline is provided. Ultimately, the jury must be unanimous in its decision to convict President Trump in this felony case.

DEMAND LETTER: Time Is Ticking In California
A Los Angeles area government policy directly bans renting any city-owned facility for “religious worship,” while allowing numerous other uses, in direct violation of the First Amendment.
The ACLJ swiftly took action after becoming aware of an unconstitutional policy being applied to a City of Manhattan Beach resident attempting to rent space in a city-owned building for a religious gathering. We took swift action and have just sent a demand letter to the city.

Historically Democrat Voters Flipping In New York
Historically Democrat voters showed up in droves to a Trump rally in New York showing support for Donald Trump. This could significantly impact the political landscape, potentially turning the state into a swing state. This unexpected shift in voter allegiance might signal broader dissatisfaction with current party leadership and policies. If this trend continues, it could alter the dynamics in upcoming elections, making traditionally solid Democratic areas more competitive.

Trump Makes History in New York
President Donald Trump held a massive campaign rally in New York, and Bronx residents came out in droves to support the former President. Could New York become a swing state in the 2024 presidential election?
Fox News reports on what it calls a “historic Bronx rally”:
Former President Trump has broken political norms by visiting one of the most deep-blue areas in New York City, a town not necessarily known for its kindness to Republicans.
Trump rallied a crowd of what his campaign estimated to be 25,000 supporters at Crotona Park in the Bronx on Thursday, far more than the initial 3,500 it said were expected to attend. Those numbers appeared to also include those lined up outside the event – who waited hours for a shot at getting inside even after the event began.
“I’m here tonight to declare we are going to turn New York City around, and we are going to turn it around very, very quickly,” Trump said after taking the stage, vowing to bring back safety and better schools to the city. “We are going to make New York bigger, better and greater than ever before.”
It’s official: New York has somehow become the epicenter of Trump land. His rally simply defies all logic. It’s the first time a Republican presidential candidate has campaigned in the Bronx since President Ronald Reagan.
Despite his nonstop legal woes, Trump’s popularity in New York is booming. Many might question why a Republican candidate would host a rally in a deeply blue area, but Trump did it – and it was huge.
So who turned out for the event? Much of the crowd was made up of Hispanic and other minority voters, which is usually not the case at a Trump rally. This diverse crowd shows that Trump’s message is crossing racial barriers and resonating with all Americans.
Several of the attendees reported President Biden’s policies had negatively impacted them. They also slammed New York’s far-Left policies that had also led to higher crime and homelessness in New York City. These citizens are clearly looking for a change in leadership.
