Michael Flynn Says ‘We Have Two Separate Governments’: ‘One That Actually Gets Elected’ & One ‘That Operates Under No Rules’

The first National Security Director for former President Donald Trump told Tucker Carlson America has two governments, only one of which is elected.

Lt. General Michael Flynn (USA – Ret) told Fox News host Tucker Carlson that an unelected group within Washington effectively runs the country without reference to voters in an interview scheduled for release Monday.

“We have the one that actually gets elected and goes into office,” the former National Security Advisor said. “And then you have a government inside of Washington, D.C. that operates under no rules, no authorities other than their own or whoever is in charge of their organization.”

Carlson noted General Flynn’s long career of government service and opined Flynn knows what he’s talking about. “He’s a reliable guide to how the government actually works,” Carlson said in the video excerpt.

Flynn joined the Army in 1981 and rose through the ranks over the years. He was elevated to Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2012 and became President Trump’s National Security Advisor in November 2016. He resigned in February of the following year after an interview with FBI agents in his White House office where he admitted speaking with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak about sanctions. He was accused of lying to investigators and entered into a plea deal with the Justice Department.

Flynn later reconsidered his plea and waged a fierce legal battle to take back his guilty plea. His long legal battle was rendered moot after he was eventually pardoned by President Trump.

Former President Barack Obama has said that he warned Trump against hiring the former general less than 48 hours after the November election, during a conversation inside the Oval Office.

When Flynn spoke to Carlson about the entrenched bureaucrats he claims really run our government, Carslon alluded to bureaucrats who targeted Flynn while serving as Trump’s NSA Director. “Sounds like that government was still controlled by Barack Obama,” said Carlson,

“That, to a degree, is what we’re operating with today,” agreed the former security director.
